10,000 lb. Hot Farm Rules

General Requirements

1. Anyone protesting the legality of a pulling vehicle's engine cubic inch or turbo size will be required to put up a $250.00 teardown fee. If the vehicle is legal the protestee will receive the $250.00. If vehicle is found to be in violation, protestor will retain the $250.00 and the violating vehicle and member will be disqualified for one year to date and a $500.00 fine will be imposed. At the end of one year, fine must have been paid to the association before tractor or puller can pull again.

2. Anyone protesting a safety feature of a pulling vehicle will also be required to put up $250.00

3. Anyone protesting something on a pulling vehicle not dealing with the vehicle's motor or safety features must first pay a $100.00 fee. If the vehicle is legal the protestee will receive the $100.00. If vehicle is found to be in violation, protestor will retain the $100.00 fine and the violating vehicle and member will be disqualified for that pull. If tractor is found to be illegal in that year again for the same thing, then the tractor is disqualified for one year.

4. All tractors must be certified before pulling season starts. Any changes made will require a new certification.

5. Tractors do not need to re-weigh after pulling.

6. No pulling into pits or pulling side shields off of tractor until class is over.

7. All rules are locked in for 5 years and cannot be voted on again until the 2008 rules meeting except for safety rules which may be added or altered if needed before then.

Safety Requirements

1. Tractors must be equipped with seat belt and driver must wear seat belt during pull.

2. All tractors must have tip over (wheelie) bars. Tip over bars must extend a minimum of 32 inches behind center of rear axles and be a minimum of 20 inches apart. Pads must be a minimum of 5 inches square and must not be more than 10 inches off the ground. Tip over bars must be capable of supporting weight of the tractor when a jack is placed under them and are subject to approval of a tech committee member. Tip over (wheelie) bars cannot be connected to drawbar support.

3. Exhaust pipe must have two 5/16" bolts in the vertical portion of the exhaust pipe. Bolts must be installed 90 degrees to each other.

4. Driver must wear fire suit and helmet during pulling.

5. A working 2 lb. fire extinguisher must be kept on the tractor.

6. Tractor must be equipped with approved safety blanket and tie bars.

7. Roll over protective structure (ROPS) required.

8. Driver's seat must be strong and in original position. Driver will remain seated at all times.

9. All drivers shall place tractor in neutral and have foot off the clutch while hooking to and from the sled.

10. Weights shall not interfere with hitch.

Engine/Feature Requirements

1. Tractors will be limited to a maximum of 540 cubic inch displacement on turbo engines.

2. Tractors cannot exceed 3000 RPM maximum. Techman can check RPM's at anytime with pulse, photo tach, or both. When checking RPM's throttle must touch positive stop on injection pump.

3. Tractors can run one turbo: 3-inch maximum in and out. May be checked at any time.

4. Tractors must be equipped with spring loaded throttle with air kill.

5. No nitrous oxide, ice, methanol, alcohol, or propane allowed. Water injection permitted.

6. Tire size not to exceed 20.8 on any width rim. Cut tires permitted. No double or triple cut.

7. Tractors cannot pull from clevis. Must use approved drawbar. Drawbar hitch point is to be 18" from center of pulling axle and a maximum of 20" in height. Drawbar is to be rigid in all directions. Hitching eye is to be a minimum of 3" in diameter and a minimum of 3/4" in thickness. Drawbar must have one inch of steel from outside of hole to outside of drawbar. Drawbar will be measured on the track before tractor hooks. Tip over (wheelie) bars cannot be connected to drawbar support.

8. Drawbars will be checked when tractor pulls onto the scales.

9. Electric fuel pumps are permitted.

10. Side shields are required on all tractors and must be easy to remove. 16 guage steel, 3/8" lexion, or 1/4" aluminum allowed.

11. No aluminum heads will be allowed.

12. Tractors may pull in any gear.

13a. All tractors will have RPM monitored by tach with recall on all sleds. All tractors are required to have a working four magnet two wire pickup wired to back of tractor with three prong male plug on tractor. No exceptions.

13b. If tach doesn't work the tractor will drop to last and fix it. If tach still does not work tractor will be checked with hand held tach.

14. Replacement blocks are allowed but must be manufacturer specified or recommended for that model.

15. All tractors must have working rear brakes.

16. All tractors must have a positive throttle stop on pump.

17. Tractors must follow NTPA rule on total length and wheelbase.

18. All tractors must have safety blanket.
